Bio

At an early age, Bretty “Snacky” Pierce understood the power of music, beginning with his first music gigs as a bass player at the tender age of 13. As he pondered career options, he realized that the power of music is as much about engineering and editing as it is about composition and orchestration. His passion has always been the pursuit of superior music. As an audio engineer, Brett worked on several albums, including Mariah Carey’s “Merry Christmas II You,” Joanna Newsome’s “Ys,” and nearLY’s (Drummer for NIN) “Reminder.” It was on “Merry Christmas II You,” that Brett worked with Grammy, Emmy, Tony winner and Oscar-nominated composer/arranger Marc Shaiman (Hairspray, South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut) that revealed yet another opportunity for Brett to apply his musical mastery.Brett received his first feature film credit in music editing with 2007’s The Bucket List. Equally at home with musicals, dramas and animation, in less than a decade, Brett has performed music editing duties on a varied palette of motion pictures, including Hairspray, Rango, The Muppets, Rock of Ages, Life of Pi, Parental Guidance, Muppets Most Wanted, Earth to Echo and Pitch Perfect 2, for which he was nominated for a Golden Reel Award.
