Lisa Jaime is an accomplished music editor with over 50 feature credits to her name in virtually every genre. She has cut music both as a temp and as a final music editor for comedies, dramas, action films, animated films, and many more. She is also a go-to music editor for musical films, having handled the detailed editorial logistics for films including Annie, Rock of Ages, Hairspray, and Rent. Lisa's expertise in music editing can be traced back to both a strong background in music (as a drummer in Bay Area bands) and a deep expertise in technology. Though a lifetime student of music, it was her Music Technology education from Cogswell Polytechnical that really combined the two fields. Lisa went to work for Studer Editech and then Sonic Solutions, where she educated editors in the art of digital editing. Lisa's interests and experience led her to Los Angeles, where she began work at music editorial company Modern Music, first as an engineer and eventually as a music editor. Though she thrives working at all stages of production, Lisa enjoys the challenge of working on large temp scores -- particularly the process of figuring out how best to tell a film's story through music. She enjoys working collaboratively with a film's production staff, offering up a variety of options and experimenting with new and unique ways to achieve a director's vision, often using her musical experience to create original seamless connective tissue between cues in a temp score.
