ALLEGRA DE SOUZA
Music Editor

Home Town: Los Angeles, CA
First Concert: Silverchair w/ Butthole Surfers
Bio

Allegra de Souza started her music career playing the piano at age seven and the cello at the age nine. She graduated from the Academy of Music and Performing Arts at Hamilton High School and earned her masters' degree in musicology at the Sorbonne University in Paris. It was while working on her thesis entitled "Opening Credit Sequences in Motion Picture Film Scores: An Examination of Compositional Trends," that Allegra developed her love for music in film and television. Her classically trained musical background, her passion for arranging music and her driving curiosity pointed her directly to music editing and brought her back to her native Los Angeles to pursue her dream. Over the past few years, Allegra has mastered her technical skills by earning a Pro-Tools expert certification in post-production, assisting composers and music editors on television shows such as Chuck, Grey’s Anatomy, Mad Men and on films such as Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales, and working independently as a music editor for television, documentaries and film. She joined Formosa in 2016, and looks forward to collaborating with filmmakers and composers for many more years to come.
