Lee Scott Music Editor
About
Originally from Atlanta, Lee moved to Los Angeles where he received an M.F.A. in music composition from California Institute of the Arts. At Cal Arts he studied composition and electronic music with Morton Subotnick and Leonard Rosenman.

Lee had never heard of the job music editor when he was first hired to help in the creation of a temp score for the film “Braveheart.” Before discovering music editing Lee worked as a copyist for Frank Zappa and participated in the flourishing L.A. punk and hip hop music scene of the 1980’s. This experience has made him a natural for working with rocker/composers Jonathan Richman, David Byrne, Pete Yorn and Brian Reitzell.

Lee has worked on over 100 feature films of almost every genre, including drama, musical, comedy, horror, thriller and indie. He has received five Golden Reel nominations for music editing and one win for “Moulin Rouge!” His favorite projects include “The Thin Red Line,” “Moulin Rouge!” “Drumline,” “Immortals,” and “There’s Something About Mary.” Lee excels in the art of temp score creation, enjoying the process of finding the musical voice for the film and laying out a template for the composer.
